Picturix - Local desktop media organizer
Analyze messy photo and video folders, detect duplicate content, and organize files into a clean date-based archive.
For large local media folders
Picturix focuses on the practical cleanup work before files become a reliable archive.
Scattered imports
Point Picturix at exported phone folders, SD card dumps, or old backup directories.
Repeated content
Content hashes detect duplicates even when names or folders differ.
Mixed formats
Unsupported files are counted and skipped instead of breaking the whole run.
No silent overwrites
Existing archive files are protected and same-name conflicts get safe numbered names.
Workflow
Start with analysis, then choose the file operation when the result is clear.
Analyze
Get counts for files that would be copied, skipped, rejected, or treated as duplicates. No destination is required.
Copy
Create an organized archive while keeping the original source files untouched.
Move
Move files only after successful writes; duplicates already in the archive can be removed from the source.
Core features
Focused desktop tooling for safe, repeatable media organization.
Metadata-first dates
Uses available container and metadata dates, then falls back to filesystem timestamps.
Destination duplicate index
Checks the destination archive for matching content before copying or moving.
Final statistics
Scan logs and summary counts make each run auditable before and after processing.
Local settings
Language, mode, telemetry, diagnostics, and consent preferences are stored locally.
No media upload
The organizer works with local paths and files. It does not decode payloads, transcode, or create thumbnails.
Portable distribution
Native desktop builds are packaged for Linux and Windows release workflows.
Privacy by Design
Picturix processes selected folders on your device. Optional telemetry and diagnostics are bounded, developer-controlled, and designed not to include media contents, selected filenames, or full local paths.

Short answers. No fluff.
Does Picturix upload my photos or videos?
No. File processing is local. Picturix reads containers and metadata; it does not upload media content.
What is Analyze mode?
Analyze mode scans and reports what would happen without copying, moving, deleting, or creating destination folders.
Can it safely handle duplicates?
Yes. Picturix hashes content and checks the destination archive so same-content duplicates can be skipped.
Which media formats does Picturix support?
Picturix is built for common photo and video files. It reads available container and metadata dates where possible, and unsupported files are counted and skipped without stopping the run.
